Sri Lanka bat first in 2nd ODI against India
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the second ODI of India’s tour of Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today (04).
The match will commence at 02.00 p.m. this afternoon, while both Sri Lanka and India look to break the tie and take the lead.
The first ODI match between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo ended in a tie on Friday (Aug 2), helped by impressive performances from Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage and Pathum Nissanka.
In a thrilling finish, both teams scored 230 runs in the game. After batting first, Sri Lanka finished their 50 overs with a total of 230/8. India replied by being bowled out for 230 with 13 deliveries remaining.
Sri Lanka have not beaten India in an ODI bilateral series since 1997.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team was dealt a major injury blow, after Wanindu Hasaranga was also ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury yesterday.
