Sri Lanka’s Ganga Seneviratne places first in Paris olympics heats
Sri Lanka’s Ganga Seneviratne has claimed first place in the preliminary round of the Women’s 100m Backstroke swimming event at the Paris Olympics.
Seneviratne recorded a time of 1:04.26.
Meanwhile, the second, third and fourth places of the first round were claimed by D. Donelli from Mozambique (1:08.73), A. Primova from Turkmenistan (1:10.17) and M. Almukhtar from Libya (1:10.99) respectively.
This is reportedly her personal best, however, it was reported that her finishing time was not sufficient to qualify for the semi-final round. Seneviratne has placed 30 among all the other athletes in the event.
